What information we collect

When you contact us for a quote, we collect your name, your phone number and/or email address, the address or postcode of the property, information about the work you’d like us to quote for (photos, descriptions, measurements), and any additional notes you provide. When you browse this website, standard cookies and analytics may record your IP address, device type, browser, which pages you view, and whether you’re a first-time or repeat visitor.

How we use your information

We use your information to reply to your quote request, send you a written quote, arrange a site visit, carry out the work and invoice for it, provide our 1-year workmanship guarantee and respond to any follow-up, and keep records as required by HMRC and Companies House. We don’t use your information for marketing, we don’t sell it to third parties, and we don’t share it with anyone outside the business except as needed to carry out the work.

Sharing within the Dulwich Building Co. Ltd

Dulwich Landscaping Co operates alongside Dulwich Building Co (extensions and carpentry) areunder the same parent company. If your project involves any of these services, your information may be shared between the relevant teams to deliver the work, but always within the same legal entity (Dulwich Building Co. Ltd).

Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, the lawful basis for us processing your personal information is contract (to provide you with a quote and carry out the work), legitimate interest (to respond to your enquiries and maintain business records), and legal obligation (to keep business records for HMRC and Companies House, typically 6 years).

Who we share your information with

We may share your information with our accountant (for tax returns), HMRC and Companies House (as required by law), materials suppliers (for delivery to site), plant hire and skip companies, and specialist trades (electrician, structural engineer, planning consultant) only where your job genuinely requires them and only with your agreement first. We do not share your information with any marketing, advertising or third-party analytics companies.

How long we keep your information

Quote requests that don’t become jobs: 12 months. Jobs we’ve completed: 6 years after completion (HMRC requirement). Guarantee records: up to 5 years after the work is completed (longer for structural elements like garden rooms). You can ask us to delete your information sooner where legally permitted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct any inaccurate information, ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention rules), ask us to restrict how we use your information, object to how we’re using your information, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

This website uses minimal cookies: essential cookies required for the site to work, and analytics cookies (anonymised) to understand which pages are useful. You can turn off non-essential cookies in your browser. We may update this policy from time to time — the “last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
