Terms and Conditions
Last updated: May 2026.
These are the terms you agree to when you hire Dulwich Landscaping Co to do landscaping or garden construction work for you. Nothing here is meant to be unusual — these are standard trading terms for residential landscaping work in England.
About us. Dulwich Landscaping Co is a trading name of Dulwich Building Co. Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales. Company: Dulwich Building Co. Ltd. Companies House number: 15523372. Registered address: 3 Addington Road, Croydon, United Kingdom, CR2 8RE. Phone / WhatsApp: 07584 928 681. Email: hello@dulwichlandscaping.co.uk.
Quotes. Quotes we issue are fixed prices, based on the information you’ve provided and a site visit. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date we send them. Quotes include labour, materials, plant hire, waste disposal and reinstatement, unless we’ve noted exclusions in writing. If, once work starts, we discover something that materially changes the scope (e.g. unmarked drains, buried foundations, contaminated soil), we’ll stop, show you, and agree any change in cost in writing before carrying on.
Booking. To book a job, you confirm the quote and an agreed start date in writing. We may ask for a deposit on larger jobs (£5,000+) to secure the start date and order materials. On jobs over £10,000 we typically work to a JCT Minor Works contract.
Doing the work. We’ll arrive on the agreed start date and aim to finish by the agreed end date. We work tidy every day, protect your home and access route, and store materials safely. The final walk-through happens together on the last day. Anything you’re not happy with gets fixed before we consider the job done.
Payment. On smaller jobs we invoice on completion. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice. On larger jobs (over £10,000) we invoice in stages — typically a deposit at the start, an interim payment on completion of groundworks, a further interim on completion of structural elements, and the balance at final walk-through. Payment by bank transfer (BACS). Late payment may incur interest at the Bank of England base rate plus 8%.
Guarantee. We offer a 1-year written workmanship guarantee on all hard-landscaping work we complete (paving, walls, joinery, structures, drainage). Garden rooms and outdoor structures we build carry a 5-year structural workmanship guarantee. Plants and lawns carry a separate 1-year establishment guarantee, subject to reasonable care. The guarantee doesn’t cover: damage caused by extreme weather; normal wear and tear; issues caused by movement of the wider building or land; work carried out by other trades after we leave; damage caused by misuse; materials supplied by you; plant losses caused by under- or over-watering, pests, or extreme weather.
Materials. Unless agreed otherwise, we supply all materials and they’re included in the quote. You can supply your own materials. Surplus materials remain our property unless agreed otherwise.
Insurance. We hold £1,000,000 public liability insurance through Dulwich Building Co. Ltd. Certificate available on request before the job starts.
Cancellation. You can cancel before work has started by giving written notice. Any deposit paid is refunded in full, less any materials we’ve already ordered specifically for the job. If you cancel after work has started, you pay for the work done to date at the quoted rate. We may cancel if unforeseen circumstances prevent us from starting or completing the job.
Photos. We sometimes take before-and-after photos of work for the website and social media. We’ll always ask your permission before using any photos that identify your property, and we’ll never share your address.
Disputes. If you’re not happy with anything, tell us. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation and a site visit. If we can’t resolve it between us, disputes are governed by English law and heard in the courts of England and Wales.
